Learning and Development
Nurses can earn a salary while upgrading to work in Critical Care. The Winnipeg Critical Care Nursing Education Program (WCCNEP) website has more information.
WCCNEP prepares registered nurses to work with critically ill patients in settings such as medical, surgical, intermediate, neonatal and pediatric intensive care units. The program consists of 24 weeks of theory, lab, and clinical work at Health Sciences Centre and St. Boniface Hospital followed by a specialized orientation in the unit and facility you will be working at following graduation. It includes salary replacement for the duration of the program.
NEW! WCCNEP Rhythm Course is a pre-requisite for the WCCNEP. The course is composed of 5 – 4 hour classes scheduled one morning a week from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
