Involving Patients and the Public
Input from patients and families helps improve care at St. Boniface Hospital. By sharing your thoughts, advice and experiences, patients and their families have the opportunity to help improve care for all patients – present and future.
Here are two ways you can share your experience and help patients receive the best possible care at St. Boniface Hospital.
Patient and Family Advisory Council
Help build bridges between patients, families, and staff by joining the Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC) at St. Boniface Hospital. Members are former patients or family members of patients who received care at St. Boniface Hospital who share a common interest: helping improve the patient’s experience and quality of care and ensuring that the patient and family members continue to be recognized as an important and valuable part of the health care team.
Council members support Hospital staff by providing input and advice on issues that matter most to patients and their families, including the development of new programs, services, and tools. The PFAC is supported by the Hospital’s Executive and staff from the Patient Safety and Quality Department.
The Patient and Family Advisory Council meets at St. Boniface Hospital on the 4th Tuesday of every month at noon for two hours. The PFAC seeks volunteer members interested in collaborating to create positive change at St. Boniface Hospital, and recruits new members throughout the entire year.
Improvement activities
St. Boniface Hospital is always looking for opportunities to improve the patient’s experience. Experience and insights from patients and families help guide decisions that will have a lasting impact on patient care. Join Hospital staff working on improvement activities, and help improve the patient’s experience and quality of care at St. Boniface Hospital. Volunteers are recruited throughout the year to participate in improvement activities and volunteer for a few hours to a few days at a time, depending on their availability.
